Janie Lowery

Merrie Jane Lowery of Brandon, MS passed away at Brandon Nursing and Rehab Center on Sunday, October 08, 2023. She was born December 11, 1939 in Augusta, AR to E.W. Matthews and Ruth Nelson Matthews.

Mrs. Lowery is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 40 years, Jerry Lowery, and two brothers: Bill Matthews and Charles Edward Matthews.

Janie leaves behind a family who will miss her dearly. She is survived by her five children: Billy (Chris) Hudson, Tim (Melanie) Lowery, Mike Hudson, Steve Lowery, and Lisa Christianson; One sister: Ann (Paul) Love; Four grandchildren: Billy Hudson III, McKenzie Lowery, Layne Baker, and Heather Tiblier; and three great-grandchildren: Billy Gage Hudson, Raylan Earl Hudson, and Cheyenne Kathleen Hudson.

In her free time, Mrs. Lowery loved to take cruises with her loving husband, Jerry, and played golf for some time. She worked for years as the manager of Runway Lanes and Apple Ridge Lanes Bowling Alleys, and was the co-owner of J&J Janitorial with her husband, Jerry.

A visitation for Mrs. Lowery will take place Monday, October 16 from 5-6pm at Ott and Lee in Brandon, followed by a 6pm chapel service.
