Michael Anderson

Michael “Mickey” Edgar Anderson was called home to be with our Lord and Savior on January 1, 2021, at the age of 83. His passing was due to complications of COVID and pneumonia. A graveside service will be held at Crestview Memorial Gardens in Brandon, MS at 12:30 pm Sunday with visitation beginning at 11 am Sunday at Ott and Lee Funeral Home. Mickey was employed by Allstate Insurance for many years and devoted his retirement to lovingly spending time with, and taking care of, his wife, Gloria.

Mickey loved to fish and participated in many bass tournaments over the years. He especially loved taking his family fishing. Mickey was so proud of his family and it showed every time we were together. He had a contagious smile and genuine kindness that made everyone around him feel welcomed and loved. There truly are no words to express how much he will be missed.

Mickey proudly served in the United States Navy for two years. He served aboard the USS Roosevelt and loved to share stories of his time in the service.

Mickey is survived by two children: Greg Stanton (Shannon) and Suzanne Stanton. He has two grandsons, William Stanton (Morgan) and Matthew Stanton. He is also survived by his brother, Robert Anderson (Penny) and sister, Sandra Shedd. He has two nephews and one niece. He is preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Stanton Anderson, his mother, Velma H. Rayborn, and his father, George Wallace Anderson. Pallbearers will be: Greg Stanton, William Stanton, Matthew Stanton, Robert Anderson, Thomas Anderson, and Terrance Anderson.

The family would like to express our deepest gratitude to everyone who cared for Mickey at Castlewoods Place in Brandon. Your love and commitment to his care the last three years has been greatly appreciated and will never be forgotten.
