Mr. Michael L. (Mike) Bates, age 60 a resident of Homewood, died on February 22, 2012 following a brief illness.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2pm Monday, February 27, 2012 from the Burns United Methodist Church. Rev. Douglas (B.B,) Watson will officiate the service. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the service.
Mr. Bates is preceded in death by his parents, William and Nannie Ward Bates and a brother, Dewayne Bates. His survivors include his wife, Rebecca S. Bates, 3 children, Keith Bates, Caprelle Bates, and Michael Bates. He is also survived by 3 step children, Gretchen Lynchard, Carrie Luke, and Casey Whitfield, 2 sisters, Debra Andrews and Myrna Parkman and and 5 grandchildren.
