Michael Patrick Hughes, 69, a resident of Brandon, MS, passed away Fri. Sept. 22, 2017 at the Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Visitation will be held on Wed. Sept. 27, 2017 from 2pm-2:45pm at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Memorial Services are 3pm on Wed. Sept. 27, 2017 at the Ott & Lee Funeral Home Chapel in Brandon, MS.
Mr. Hughes was born in Jackson, MS and has been a longtime resident of Rankin County, MS. He was a member of Galloway Memorial United Methodist Church in Jackson, MS. Mr. Hughes spent many years serving and providing care for others during his time in the military, at UMC and MEA.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Hughes; daughter, Lauren Hughes Temkovits (Chip); two grandchildren, Alex and Andrew Temkovits; sister, Marsha Chastain (John); two brothers, Terrell Hughes (Pam) and Larry Hughes; two nieces, Kelsey Hanson and Bobbie P. Hughes and four nephews, Terrell Hughes Jr., Dustin Hughes, Taylor Chastain and Mason Chastain. Mr. Hughes is preceded in death by his two children, Tiffany Michelle Hughes and Brian Patrick Hughes.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Blair E. Batson Children’s Hospital at 2500 N. State St. Jackson, MS 39216.
