MORTON
Mr. Michael Darnall Latham, age 76, a resident of the Leesburg community near Morton passed away Thursday, August 26, 2010 at Brandon Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Brandon. Visitation was held 5-8pm Friday, August 27th at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton. Funeral services were held at 1pm Saturday, August 28, 2010 from the Ott & Lee Chapel in Morton with burial in the Leesburg Baptist Cemetery. Bro. Timothy “Bobo” Phillipson officiated the services. Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Latham was a lifelong resident of Scott County. He loved his grandkids and taking them fishing was one of his favorite things to do. He loved to be in the serenity of nature and take pictures of God’s creatures in the wild. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.
He is preceded in death by his father, John Latham; wife, Fannie Vonette Latham, daughter, Bettye Cornelison; brother, Billy Latham and sister, Mary Latham.
Survivors include his mother, Lucille Anderson Latham of Forest; daughter, Dean Sprayberry of Pelahatchie; 3 sons, Jimmy L. Latham, Micheal Latham (Kathy Jo) and Johnny Latham all of Morton; 3 sisters, Janie Lott, Joanne Bagley and Dorothy Hamilton all of Forest; 3 brothers, Ezell “Bud” Latham of Canton, Floyd Latham of Florence and Sammie Latham of Louisiana; 5 grandchildren, Mandi Walters, Sandy Goodin, Amy Ingram, Micheal Ray Latham and Vaden Latham; 6 great grandchildren, Jared Goodin, Chloe Walters, McKinnley Goodin, Hunter Miles, Patrick Walters and Harley Grace Miles and a host of friends.
Pallbearers were J.B. Franklin, Robby Thompson, Jeremy Shoemaker, Chuck King, Tony King and Glen Parker. Honorary pallbearers were Jerry Shoemaker and Buster Meek.
