Mr. Michael Joseph Mouton was born in Saint Martinsville, LA on April 5, 1926 to his parents. Maurice and Lucy Mouton. He passed away at the Mississippi Care Center in Morton, MS on October 8, 2019 at the age of 93.
A resident of this area since 1963, he made his home at Lake, Newton, and most recently Morton. He was a retired seismographer with the Continental Oil Company and was a member of Salem Baptist Church at Lake, where he attended faithfully as long as his health permitted. Enjoyable pass times were listening to audio books, and LSU Football over the radio waves. He will be missed by his family who loved him very much.
He is preceded in death by his first wife: Laverne Evans Mouton; his second wife: Bobbie Udell Hollingsworth Mouton and one grandson: Micah Caleb Johnson. His parents and all of his siblings also precede him in death.
He is survived by his children: Michael R. Mouton of Lake; Baker (Lynda) Hollingsworth, also of Lake; Barbara (Bill) Bagley of Forest and Dena (Robbie) Vickers of Chunky; one grandson: Michael James Mouton; one great-granddaughter: Sarah Mouton and one niece: Mona Russo.
Graveside services will begin at 11:30 am on Friday, October 11, 2019 at Salem Baptist Cemetery at Lake with the Rev. Larry Duncan officiating.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am – 11:00 am on Friday at Ott & Lee Funeral Home, 295 East First St., Forest, MS 39074.
Serving as pallbearers will be Shane Hollingsworth, Scotty Bagley, Johnny Johnston, Robbie Vickers, Clay Myatt, and Sammy Russo.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl, Memphis, TN 38105 or to Salem Baptist Church, 1986 Conehatta Rd., Lake, MS 39092.
