Michael George Siller, of Brandon, Mississippi, passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2024. He was born August 3, 1954, to parents George and Sophie Siller from La Marque, Texas. A dedicated marching band member, he played trombone and tuba through junior high school, high school, and in the Fighting Texas Aggie Band at Texas A&M University through 1976. Upon graduation, Mike was commissioned a Second Lieutenant and began his active service with the U.S. Marine Corps. He served in a variety of operational and administrative assignments and left active service in 1989.
In civilian life, Mike’s area of expertise were in the areas logistical support and information management. He retired in 2013. Mike was active parishioner of St. Jude Catholic Church in Pearl, Mississippi. He served as the local Knights of Columbus Council’s financial secretary for a number of years and also as the council’s Grand Knight. He was also a 4th degree Knight.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, George and Sophie Siller, and his twin sisters, Elaine Marie and Margaret Ann Siller. Survivors include his brother, George C. Siller, Jr.; sister, Kathy Siller; nieces, Michelle Siller, Erin Mauldin, and Meagan Gilbert; great nieces, Cassandra Garza, Alexis Mauldin, Anna Gilbert, and Haley Gilbert; and great nephew, Luke Mauldin.
Funeral services will be held at St. Jude Catholic Church in Pearl, Mississippi, on Saturday, July 20, 2024. Visitation will be held starting at 9:00 am, followed by a Rosary and the funeral Mass at 10:00 am. Mike will be laid to rest at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Dickinson, Texas, on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, with a graveside service at 10:00 am.
