Mildred Louise Laubscher, age 88 of Pearl, passed away on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at Manhattan Nursing and Rehabilitation in Jackson.
Funeral services will be Monday, December 10, 2018 at 11:00am at College Drive Seventh Day Adventist Church with Pastor Murvin Camatchee officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, December 9, 2018 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon from 5:00pm until 7:00pm and again on Monday at the Church from10:00am until service time.
She was born in Midnight, MS on June 17, 1930 to the late Richard Blalock and Algus Price Blalock.
Mildred graduated from Edwards High School and Draughon’s College. She was Valedictorian of her class and loved playing basketball. She worked for 30 years at McCarty Holeman and Jitney Jungle and was the first woman Meat Buyer in the U.S. She was very active in Seventh Day Adventist Church, held numerous positions, was a Pathfinders Leader for ten years, and loved children.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Paul Clay Cook and K.C. Laubscher; siblings; Harvey Blalock, Pruitt Blalock, and Fan Walton.
Mildred is survived by her children; Katherine Stripling (Glen), Paul Lonnie Cook (JoAnn), and Dwight Laubscher (Serena); six grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family would like to thank Manhattan Nursing Home and Rehabilitation, and Home Care Hospice for their special care.
