Mildred Holloway Weaver Morton, MS Mildred Holloway Weaver, 93, died August 4, 2016, at Atwood Personal Care Home in Kosciusko, MS. The funeral service for Mrs. Weaver was held at 3:00 pm Sunday, August 7, 2016 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton, MS. Visitation was held one hour prior to the service. Interment followed the service at Morton Memorial Garden. Mrs. Weaver was born in the Blackwater Community of Kemper County, MS, on June 28, 1923. Her parents were Inez Wilson Holloway and John Deason Holloway, Sr. She graduated from DeKalb High School in DeKalb, MS, in 1941. She attended East Mississippi Junior College in Scooba, MS, for one year (1941-42). It was during this time that she met and married her husband Ira Quinten Weaver who was also a student at EMJC. They married secretly on March 28, 1942, until they could muster up the courage to tell her parents. Their marriage extended over 62 years until Mr. Weaver’s death in 2004. She was very supportive of her husband in his profession throughout his career as an agriculture teacher, school administrator, and vocational-technical Director. The Weavers lived in Hatley, MS, Morgan City, MS, Scooba, MS. and Morton, MS over the length of their married life. They made dear friends and were very active in all the communities in which they lived. In the last five years of her life Mrs. Weaver moved to Kosciusko, MS, where she was a resident of Atwood Personal Care Home to be near her son, Don and his wife Martha Tip. Mrs. Weaver was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Blessed with wonderful health, boundless energy, and a servant’s heart she frequently could be found sharing the Lord’s love and care through acts of kindness to those around her. She was a terrific cook and loved to have friends over for a meal or could be seen delivering dishes of food to friends that were ill or confined to their home. Mrs. Weaver made a profession of faith at an early age at Blackwater Baptist Church. She was very faithful in all the Baptist Churches that she and Mr. Weaver were members all of their married life. She was last a member of First Baptist Church in Morton for fifty-six years where she served as Sunday School teacher, church choir member, and worked as fulltime secretary of the church for 14 years. She was an active member of The Eastern Star for over 60 years. Mrs. Weaver was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brother, John D. Holloway, Jr., and her daughter, Elaine Weaver Lee. She is survived by her brother, E. Rea Holloway(Michelle) of St. Augustine, FL., her son Dr. Donald Quinten Weaver(Martha Tip) of Kosciusko, MS, her grandchildren, Ward Lee(Pam) of Clarksville, AR, Elizabeth Weaver Livingston(Ricky), of Franklin, TN, Chelle Lee Smith(Wes) of Nashville, TN, Amanda Weaver Long(Chad), of Tupelo, MS. She is survived by seven great grandchildren: Chase Lee, Sarah Elizabeth Long, Stuart Long, Catherine Long, Thomas Livingston, Pharris Livingston, and Lydia Livingston. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to First Baptist Church of Morton, MS or The Alzheimer Association—Mississippi Chapter. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott and Lee in Morton, MS
