Mildred L. Dunlap, 90, of Briar Hill Nursing Home, died Friday March 1, 2013 in Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland. Visitation is 2-5 pm Sunday and 10 am Monday at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon. Services are 11 am Monday at the funeral home with burial in Lakewood Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Dennis Dunlap, Dustin Dunlap, Matt Dunlap, Cliff Dunlap, David Dunlap, Johnny Dunlap and Mark Dunlap.
Born in Starkville, MS in 1922, Mildred lived most of her life in Jackson, Clinton and Brandon. She was a homemaker and reared six boys. Mildred learned how to drive and got her first Driver’s License at age 65, after her husband’s death. Her love of yard sales grew into a partnership of Three Grannies Attic second hand business in the Clinton area. She was a member of Midway Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton A. Dunlap.
She is survived by sons, John A. Dunlap of Brandon, Robert T. Dunlap (Mary) of Florence, Clifton K. Dunlap (Marjorie) of Brandon, Michael R. Dunlap (Betty) of Florence, James A. Dunlap (Theresa) of Hazelhurst and Fred L. Dunlap (Debbie) of Brandon; sister, Dorothy Barnette (Milford) of Bossier City, LA; 13 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
