Monroe Myers

Funeral services for Mr. Monroe Hugh Myers will be conducted Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 11:00 am from the Line Creek Baptist Church with Bro. Tal Vardaman officiating. Interment will follow in the Line Creek Baptist Cemetery under the direction of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.

Visitation will be on Friday, February 23, 2018 from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the funeral home and on Saturday from 10:00 am - 10:45 am prior to the funeral services at the church.

Monroe Hugh Myers, the only child of Monroe Solon and Cleo Edith Moore Myers, was born in Scott County on July 24, 1941 and passed away at his residence on February 21, 2018 at the age of 76.

As echoed by his family, Mr. Myers will be remembered for his legacy of faith, family and friends. He was member of Line Creek Baptist Church where he attended faithfully as long as his health permitted. As a family man, he had a love for his wife, children, son-in-law and grandchildren that will live on in their hearts. An all-around "handy man," Mr. Hugh shared his talents and skills with others. Favorite past times included hunting, fishing, raising vegetables, and growing flowers. He was a jokester who will be remembered as the "life of the party." He will be missed but his legacy will be carried on for generations to come.

He is preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his wife of 55 years: Mrs. Sarah Myers of Morton; two children: Jeff Myers of Morton; and Jinna (Steve) Shepherd of Brandon; three grandchildren: Ben Myers and his friend: Ashley Wooten; Megan Shepherd and Ethan Shepherd; one niece: Sonja Chrestman and one nephew: Keith Harrison.
