Frank, as everyone called him, was born on December 3, 1939 to Francis Marion Herring, Sr. and Lucille Doris Tice Herring of Morton. His parents preceded him in death.
Frank was a self-employed salesman and an avid farmer and gardener. He had an amazing green thumb and could grow anything he touched. He prided himself on having one of the prettiest yards and finest gardens in Forkville. He loved to share his home-grown vegetables, plants and brown eggs to all his family, friends and neighbors. Everyone around had to have some of his tomatoes! He was also an active member of the Gideon’s International and when health allowed him, he was seen distributing God’s word through copies of scriptures for the Gideon’s.
He loved telling jokes and his favorites were Cajun jokes. He always had something that was funny that he could tell because he enjoyed hearing people laugh and sharing that laughter! He loved children and was the most popular member at the church because he had candy! He always got plenty of hugs!
Pallbearers were Ronnie Rushton, Terrell Harvey, Chad White, Trey Owens, Charles Beavers and Charles Cole. Honorary pallbearers were the Gideon’s of Scott County Camp.
His family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Gideon’s International, Scott County Camp, P O Box 804, Forest, MS 39074 to help share copies of scriptures to the world or to the Bethlehem Baptist Church Building Fund, 7986 Hwy 13 N, Morton, MS 39117.
