Halbert "Pat" Patterson, 86, of Jasper, Texas passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at his residence.
A Celebration of Life Reception will be held on Sunday, May 29, 2016 from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Shultz Funeral Home in Jasper. A Celebration of Life Visitation will be held in Forest, Mississippi on Monday, May 30. 2016 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Ott & Lee Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Homewood Methodist Cemetery on Monday, May 30th.
A native of Terry, Mississippi, he was born on May 11, 1930 to Sam & Isabella Patterson. A veteran of the United States Navy, where he served his country from 1951-1955 during the Korean War. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal & Korean Service Medal. He moved to Jasper, Texas in 1981 and was employed with Kinnear Motors until retirement in 1993. He also worked part time at Triple L Rental until 2011.
He is preceded in death by his wife Alice Jean Patterson and son Michael Lee Patterson.
He is survived by his wife Lillie Patterson of Jasper, Texas; son Hal & wife Sherri Patterson of Forest, Mississippi, step-sons Mike Cochran of Jasper, Texas and Arthur Lee & wife Sherry Cochran of Jasper, Texas; daughters Sandra & husband Eugene Odom of Forest, Mississippi and Alicia Pearson of Brandon, Mississippi, step-daughters Ramona Cochran of Jasper, Texas and Anna New of Pineland, Texas; his twin brother Howard Patterson of Livingston, Texas; as well as seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Shelby Patterson, Steven Bell, Brandon Pearson, Brock Rhodes, Kevin Polk and Otho Herrington.
