Mrs. Bobbie Nell Henderson, age 86, a resident of the Lorena community, died Wednesday, April 13, 2016, at the Lackey Hospital following a brief illness.
Funeral services were conducted at 10am, Saturday, April 16, 2016, from the Lorena Baptist Church with interment in the Lorena Cemetery. Visitation was be held from 5pm to 8pm Friday, April 15, 2016, at Lorena Baptist Church. Rev. Tommy Anderson, Rev. Ed Burris and Rev Tommy Tanner officiated.
Mrs. Henderson was born to her parents; Archie Daniels and Clayton Royals Daniels on July 9, 1929, in Pineville, MS. She met and married the love of her life, Wilber Henderson; joined Lorena Baptist Church where she was a faithful member for over 66 years, serving as the church Hostess. She was a Godly wife, mother and grandmother who loved and cared for her family. She also served faithfully with the Smith County Baptist Association. She served in the Smith County Schools as a substitute teacher for over 25 years; served as a Bailiff for Smith County for 44 years until her retirement in 2015. She was the first female Election Commissioner serving for 3 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Wilber Henderson; sons, Michael and Randy Henderson, brothers; Lamar, Elbert and Quitman; sisters, Mildred and Juanita.
Survivors include her sister, Dorris Mullins of Gulfport, a son, Lambert Henderson (Marnie) , a daughter, Wanda Henderson both of Forest , Daughter in law, Patsy Henderson (husband-Randy, deceased). She leaves a legacy of 6 grandchildren; Bert Henderson, Phillip Henderson, Josh Henderson, Valerie Myers Sanders, Nicky H. Sauls and Stacy Henderson, 11 great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Pallbearers were Richard Sanders, Bert Henderson, Stanley Daniels, Phillip Henderson, Jason Watros and Josh Henderson.
