Graveside service will be held 10am Friday, May 20, 2022 at New Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery, 191 Measells Rd., Morton, MS 39117.

Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.

Mrs. Carolyn Boyd, age 79, a resident of the Branch Community passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at Scott Regional Hospital in Morton.  Graveside service will be held at 10am Friday, May 20, 2022 at New Liberty Baptist Cemetery.  Bro. Paul Smith will officiate the service.  Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.

Mrs. Boyd was born in Scott County on December 21, 1942.  She enjoyed being outdoors working in her yard-making it look good.  Carolyn was a good cook and when her eyesight let her, she was an avid reader.  She loved her family and her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the apple of her eye.  Carolyn will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Amos and Letha Sumrall Irby; siblings, Estelle Boxx, Marbo Irby, Lannie Kimble and Marlon Irby.

She is survived by her loving husband, George Boyd of Branch; Laura Prestage (Steven) of Branch; sister, Cleo McCollum of Pascagoula; 2 grandchildren, Anna Boyd (Rickey Pilgrim) and Kale “G.W.” Prestage; 2 great grandchildren, Asher Hines and Maverick Pilgrim and a host of friends.

Pallbearers will be Chris Anthony, Jay Anthony, Andy Boyd, Matthew Boyd, Lee Sugg and  Lee Willis Sugg III (Trace).
