Funeral services for Myrna Loy Donald Hinton a resident of Scott County and MS Care Center of Morton was held Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Ott and Lee Chapel in Morton, MS. Visitation was held on Saturday, March 14, 2015 from 10:00 until 11:00 am at the Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton.

Myrna Loy Donald Hinton age 76 passed away after a long debilitating illness on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at the Morton Care Center. She was born to the late William Hillman Donald and Viola Pearl Henry Donald on August 19, 1938 in the New Home Community of Scott County.

Mrs. Hinton enjoyed traveling, especially to the Great Smokey Mountains, quilting, arts and crafts, reading, gardening, and canning. She was widely known for her artistic ability and her handmade quilts were treasured by many, one of which was presented to Governor Bill Waller during his tenure as Governor of the State of Mississippi.

She was a member of the Pearl Chapter Number 384 Order of the Eastern Star, and a longtime member of Grandview Baptist Church in Pearl. She also worked for a number of years for Ergon Fuel Center in Richland. She was a long time resident of Pearl, Mississippi. She graduated from Pearl High School in 1957.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Jackie Hinton.


Mrs. Hinton is survived by her daughters, Cindy Guthrie Lucas (Mike) of Idaho, Donna Jo Guthrie Mitchell (Joseph) of Brandon and son Ricky Hinton of Pearl; sisters Hilma Donald Golden of Morton, Janell Donald of Brandon, and Mary Donald Adkins (Billy Joe) of Brandon; and brother Billy Joe Donald (Evelyn) of Pearl. She is also survived by three grandchildren: Emily Caitlin Mitchell, Sarah Grace Mitchell and Cody Lloyd Hinton all of Brandon.

She also leaves behind Sophie her best Chihuahua canine friend. Bro. Tal Vardaman and Aaron Hines blessed the family with special music during the services. She is loved by her family and friends and will be missed by many.

Officiating the services was Bro. Tal Vardaman, and serving as pallbearers were Billy Joe Donald Jr., Paul Donald, Ryan Donald, Billy Joe Adkins, West Robertson, and Brad Spikes.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton.
