Nadia A. Lay, 84, a resident of Chattanooga, TN, formerly of Florence, MS went to be with her Lord on Sunday, February 14, 2016 at Hospice of Chattanooga Care Center in Chattanooga, TN. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 16, 2016 from 4 until 7 pm and again Wednesday, February 17, 2016 from 12 Noon until the 1 pm Service in the Chapel of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Richland, MS. Burial will follow in Lakewood Memorial Park in Jackson, MS.
Nadia was born on April 4, 1931 in Jackson, MS to the late Stanley and Beatrice Carrie Runnels Merritt.
She was an LPN, and had worked at the University of Mississippi Medical Center for a number of years.
She had been a resident of Florence for 46 years before moving to Chattanooga, TN in August 2014. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Florence. She loved to work in her yard and her flower gardens.
She loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, J. L. Lay; and a granddaughter, Courtney Marie Keeter.
Survivors include her children, Katherine Lay Keeter (Kent) of Clinton, MS and Burchie Arthur Norwood (Theresa) of Chattanooga, TN; her sister, Alvilda Jarrett of Brandon, MS; grandchildren, Jennifer Keeter, Christopher Keeter, Regina Turley (Rick), and James Norwood; and two great-grandchildren.
