 Mrs. Nadine Glaze Noel, age 86, passed away at her home in Hillsboro, Mississippi, on June 7, 2012.
Mrs. Noel was a lifelong resident of Hillsboro and was active in many community affairs in the Forest area.
Mrs. Noel served in various capacities with the Scott County Election Commission for many years. She was a longtime member of the American Legion Auxiliary and was a devout supporter of American Legion activities, honoring the memory of her late husband, Marion P. Noel, who served in WW II. They were wed June 28, 1946. Mrs. Noel worked in Washington, DC in governmental business in the mid 1940's.
Mrs. Noel was a member of the order of the Eastern Star, and was a past Worthy Matron of the Forest Chapter.
She was an active member of the Forest Garden Club and the Hontokalo Chapter of the DAR. Her church affiliations include Hillsboro Methodist, Harperville Methodist, and was a member of Forest United Methodist Church. She had especially enjoyed creating and tending the flower garden at Harperville UMC and decorating the sanctuary for Christmas and Easter.
"Miss Nadine" will be remembered for her devotion to her family and friends; her patriotism; her loyalty to the United Methodist Church, and her sense of humor. She would go above and beyond to help her friends and family, and was dearly loved by her sons, daughters -in -law, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Her family includes sons Michael Noel (Janice); Charlie Noel (Becky); 4 grandchildren, Julie N. Crain (Joey); Amy Nadine N. Kitchens (Ron); Lance Noel (Lauren); Lane N. Meeks (Zach); and 6 great grandchildren, Ethan Crain, Candice Crain, Anna Crain, Andrew Crain, John Clayton Kitchens, and Joy Kitchens. She was an "Honorary Grandmother" to Cathy Gatewood Cooper (Jeffrey) and John David Gatewood (Michelle).
Her family also includes a number of nieces and nephews: Vicky Glaze Huff, Brenda Dry Kizer, Anne N. Hamilton,
Lynn N. Crechelle, Carolyn N. Risher, Henry Glaze, Tom Glaze Jr., Tommy Brown, Karl Noel, Bennie Noel, and sister in law, Ruth Glaze.
Visitation will be Monday, June 11, from 5--8 pm at Ott and Lee Funeral Home, in Forest.
Memorial services will be held at Forest United Methodist Church on Tuesday, June 12, at 10:30 am, with burial at Harperville Memorial Cemetery. Officiating Ministers will be Rev. Ron Kitchens and Rev. Paul McDonald.
Serving as pallbearers will be
Henry Glaze, Tom Glaze, Jr., Joey Crain, Rev. Ron Kitchens, Lance Noel, and Zach Meeks. Honorary pallbearers are Sam Holden, members of the Forest Chapters of the American Legion and the American Legion Auxiliary, members of the Forest Chapter of the DAR, and members of the Luther Tadlock Sunday School Class at Forest United Methodist Church.
