Nancy Elizabeth Bramlett peacefully passed from this earth and entered into the arms of her Heavenly Father on February 27, 2024 at home surrounded by loved ones at the age of 88. Visitation will be held 5-8pm Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS and on Thursday, February 29, 2024, from 10:00 am- 10:45 am at Brandon Presbyterian Church in Brandon, MS. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 am at Brandon Presbyterian Church with burial to follow in Collins City Cemetery in Collins, MS.
Nancy was born on August 30, 1935, to Lucile Biglane and O.L. "Doc" Stringer in Collins, MS. Her older sister, Kathryn, adored her from the moment she was born. She and her family lived many places throughout her childhood. She showed an interest in the arts from a very young age that would carry into adulthood.
Nancy began her college career at Perkinston Junior College where she met and married the love of her life, John Kenneth Bramlett. They continued their education at Mississippi College, where she received a Masters of Education. She later received a Post Graduate Degree in Administration from The University of Mississippi. A dedicated school teacher and administrator, Nancy's stellar career of over four decades included stints at Clinton, Forest, Prentiss, Senatobia, Rankin County School District, and the Mississippi Department of Education. Throughout her career and healthy retirement, Nancy actively participated and served in numerous public education organizations, Brandon Friends of the Library, and Women In the Church. Her friendships, and her family brought joy into Nancy's life until the day she entered heaven. She loved her friends, family, and Brandon Presbyterian Church immensely and created memories that her loved ones will forever cherish.
Nancy is survived by her two children, Pamela Elizabeth O’Bryan (Patrick) and John Kenneth "Bubba” Bramlett, Jr. (Celeste); brother-in-law, Lee Ben Bramlett; grandchildren, Nancy Nicole "Nicki" Bramlett Harvey (Will), John Kenneth "Jake" Bramlett III (Crystal), Taylor O'Bryan (Elena), Austin O 'Bryan (Katie), Preston O'Bryan and Sadie Elizabeth Bramlett; great grandchildren, Cannon Thomas Coghlan, Haven Sophia Massey, Rhett Tyler Mason, KenLee Marie Bramlett, Reese Carold Harvey, Holden Maxwell O'Bryan, Eliza Faye Harvey, Olivia Grace O'Bryan, and her nieces, Marcia Herrington Bracken (Chris), Courtney Bramlett Simmons (Hank) and Brooke Bramlett Coogan (Patrick). Nancy is preceded in death by her loving husband John Kenneth Bramlett, parents O.L. and Lucile Biglane Stringer, her sister Kathryn Barrett (Grant), sister in-law Judy Bramlett, and nephew Johnny Herrington.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Brandon Presbyterian Church at 209 South College St. Brandon, MS 39042.
