Nancy Louise Smith Cook, 89, passed away Saturday, February 29, 2020 at Merit Health Rankin in Brandon, MS. Visitation will be held Sunday, March 1, 2020 from 6-8 pm and Monday from 12-2 pm at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Monday at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS.
Mrs. Cook was born February 9, 1931 in Georgia to Willie Luther Smith and Hattie Mae Smith. She was married to Willard Jefferson Cook. Mrs. Cook was a homemaker and enjoyed taking care of her family. Her hobbies include pottery, crocheting, gardening and keeping her grandchildren. She loved her family very much and spending time with them brought great joy to her life. She will be missed by all who loved and knew her.
Mrs. Cook was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Willard Jefferson Cook; daughter, Sandra Teresa Cook; son in law, James Butler and James Hatch; parents, Willie Luther Smith and Hattie Mae Smith; brothers, John Ray Smith and Hilton Smith and her sisters, Betty Jo Perkins and Frances Smith.
Mrs. Cook is survived by her children, Linda Strickland (Edwin) Lofton, Wanda Mae Butler, Terry (Teresa) Cook and Karen (David) Westbrook; brother, Doyle (Nelda) Smith; sister, Ann Hartline; 11 grandchildren, Terri Bray, Jennifer (Christopher) Horgan, Scott (Mildrey) Strickland, Jason (Rebecca) Butler, Jonathan (Anna) Butler, Joseph Butler, Shannon (Matt) Dodd, Janice (Chad) Nix, Sandra (Michael) Clark, Stephanie (Josh) Munn and David (Rebecca) Hatch; 23 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
