Nannie G. Sorey, 94, formerly of Lemon, MS in Smith County, joined her Heavenly Father on Monday, April 03, 2017. She passed away at Merit Health Rankin. Visitation will be 5-7pm Wednesday, April 5, 2017, at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Forest, MS. Services are 10am Thursday, April 6, 2017, in the chapel of the funeral home. Interment will be in Good Water Baptist Cemetery in Smith County.
Mrs. Sorey was born on December 5, 1922, to Walter and Lillian Derrick Glaze. She was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Smith County and she retired a seamstress at Raleigh Corp. after 20 years of service. Nannie was a wonderful mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her daughter, Linda (Charles) Smith; 6 grandchildren, Howard (Karen) Westbrook, Ricky Westbrook, Teresa (Madison) Buckman, Randy (Vickie) Westbrook, Christopher (Leah) Smith and Charlotte Smith; 11 great grandchildren and 20 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Ufa Sorey; daughter, Brenda Joyce Westbrook; parents, Walter and Lillian Derrick Glaze; and grandson, Kenneth Wayne Westbrook.
