Nelda Marie Singley, 84, went to meet Jesus on Mon. Jan. 5, 2015 at Wisteria Gardens in Pearl, MS. Visitation will be held on Wed. Jan. 7, 2015 from 5pm-7pm at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Funeral Services will be at 2pm on Thurs. Jan. 8, 2015 in the Ott & Lee Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Hebron Cemetery in Brandon, MS.
Mrs. Singley was born in Selma, AL and was also a resident of Brandon, MS after moving from Hattiesburg, MS. She studied the Word of God and was a member of Trinity Heights Church of God in Hattiesburg, MS. Mrs. Singley loved to collect dolls, fine jewelry, enjoyed crafts such as sewing, crocheting, and cooking. Mrs. Singley also sang and played the guitar in her younger years.
She is survived by her two daughters, Barbara O’Gwynn (Robert) and Rose Marie Eddy (Steven); one sister, Patricia Salice; 7 grandchildren, Robin Hittle (Ken), Angela Biard (Joe), Greg O’Gwynn (Melanie), April Parker (Branden), Cheri Hartzog (Randy), Michael Eddy and Gina Williams; 14 great-grandchildren, Ryan Taylor, Aaron Exum, Kayla Purvis, Whitney Exum, Hannah Rushing, Baylee Parker, Noah Parker, Makenzie Parker, Elijah O’Gwynn, Blake Biard, Dustin Mallory, Jonathan Mallory, Summer Mallory, Ashlyn Smith, and Oriana Hartzog; 6 great-great grandchildren, Matis Noe Mallory, Reed Taylor, Aidyn Exum, Camden Purvis, Paislee Purvis and Ridge Taylor. Mrs. Singley is preceded in death by her husband, Douglas David Singley; her parents, Nathan and Nancy Newell; 2 sisters, Evelyn McDonald and Jimmy Newell; two brothers, James and Soule Newell.
