Neola Tucker Sherman, age 99, a resident of Brandon died Monday January 1, 2018 in Brandon following an extended illness.
Funeral services were conducted at 2pm Wednesday January 3, 2018 from the chapel of the Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton with interment in the Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation was held from 11am til the service time. Rev. Vic Bowman and Rev. John Vaughn officiated.
Mrs. Sherman was born on Wednesday September 18, 1918 in Neshoba County to her parents Charlie Tucker and Agnes Fryery Tucker. She was a homemaker, loving mother and grandmother. She was the oldest living member of Crossroads Baptist Church. Mrs. Sherman had lived in the Crossroads community for many years. She enjoyed being with her family and friends. She especially enjoyed playing Bingo with her friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters: Lena Pearl Goldman and Hattie Lou Griffin, 3 brothers; Otis Tucker, Jimmy Tucker and Reed Tucker. Also preceding her in death was a son; James King; a grand-daughter Connie King; first husband Lloyd King and second husband Lawrence Sherman.
Survivors include her daughter Janice Goldman of Pelahatchie, 4 grandchildren; Debbie Young, Ray King, Jeff (Lori) Goldman, Tina (Jason) Deen, 14 great-grandchildren and 3 great-grand grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Butch Varner, Thomas Varner, Jackie Shivers, Cody Goldman, Ronnie King and Roderick Varner.
