Norman Jay Tullos, 70, of Brandon, Mississippi, passed away on Friday, March 21, 2014 in Rockwall, Texas. Born in Los Angeles, California to Robert M. and Ruth Boaz Tullos, he lived most of his life in Jackson.
Norman served his country in the Marine Corp Reserve. He moved to Mississippi to attend Mississippi College. After working at Borden's Milk Company, Norman owned George’s Family Restaurant in Pearl for many years. As a longtime member of Southside Baptist Church in Jackson, Norman loved to sing in the choir. Norman was a devoted family man and in his spare time he enjoyed riding motorcycles, reading and playing with his grandchildren.
Norman was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Keri Tullos, of Brandon.
He is survived by wife, Reba Barnett Tullos; son, Bryan W. Tullos and wife Cyndi, grandchildren Raney and Madyn, of Brandon; and daughters, Traci Broom and husband Tommy, grandchildren Kristen, Isabella and Natalie, of Brandon; and Brandi Sullivan and husband, Robert, grandchildren Cameron, Kaci, Allie and Saydi, of Heath, Texas. He is also survived by his [step]mother Shirley Tullos, of Morris, Minnesota; his three sisters Diane Hurja and husband, Ted, of Wyoming, Michigan; Debbie Swaner and husband, Ron, of Apple Valley, Minnesota; and Becky Tullos, of Morris, Minnesota; as well as his nephews, great nephews, great nieces and other friends.
Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Ott & Lee Funeral Home, 1360 W. Government Street, Brandon, Mississippi, on Monday, March 24. Funeral services will be at Ott & Lee on Tuesday, March 25 at 10:00 am. Norman will be laid to rest at Lakewood Memorial Park, 6000 Clinton Blvd., Jackson, Mississippi.
