Odis L. Allen, 76, passed away Mon. July 12, 2010 at the Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. Visitation will be held today from 5-8pm. and Thurs. from 9-10am. at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon. Funeral Services are 10am. Thurs. July 15, 2010 at the funeral home with a 2pm. graveside service to follow at Bloomfield Cemetery in Philadelphia. Elder Jerry Wilkinson and Elder James B. Allen will officiate the services.
Mr. Allen was born in Edinburg and has been a resident of Pearl for the past 46 years. He retired from Sperry-Vickers after 30 years of service and enjoyed listening to all types of sports on the radio. Most of all Mr. Allen loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Allen of Pearl; four children, Gina Hemmen of Milwaukee, WI, Suzanne McDonald and husband Mark of Tampa, FL, Toni Burrus and husband Christopher of Dexter, MI, and Randy L. Allen of Pearl; one brother, James Allen and wife Shirley of Ridgeland; ten grandchildren, Kelly Cason and husband Derrett of Yazoo City, Jamie Craft of Hattiesburg, Tyler, Brian, Mary Claire and Derek McDonald all of Tampa, FL, Harrison, Mitchell, Preston, and Ireland Burrus all of Dexter, MI and Baby Burrus on the way, and four great-grandchildren, Haze Craft, Jacob, Jaylen, and Jace Knowlton. Mr. Allen is preceded in death by his parents, Ocie and Odessa Allen and his sister, Rivers Bilbro.
