Ollie V. Biggert, age 77, went to be with her Lord on Friday, February 14, 2014 at her home in Braxton.
Visitation was Saturday, February 15, 2014 from 5 – 8 pm at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Richland, MS.
Funeral Services were Sunday, February 16, 2014 at 1:30 pm from the Chapel of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Richland, MS with burial following in the Sims Hill Cemetery in Morton, MS. Rev. Hobson Toney Officiated and Matthew Martin, James Pittman, Chris Blackwell, Austin McGrew, Donald McGrew and Jimmy Boyd served as pallbearers.
Ollie Van Hunter was born on February 24, 1936 in Newton County, MS to the late James A. Hunter and Susie D. Cooksey Hunter. She was a former resident of Morton, MS and had lived in Braxton, MS for the past six years. She was a member of Gum Springs Baptist Church in Braxton, MS and was a homemaker.
She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren dearly but loved God more than anything.
She loved taking care of her house plants and loved gardening. One of the happiest moments of her life was talking on the phone daily to her best friend of 43 years, Big Mama, Ms White.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jessie Biggert; her son, William M. Byrd; and nine brothers and sisters.
Survivors include two daughters, Charlotte A. Boyd (Jimmy) of Braxton, MS and Susan A. Pittman of Brandon, MS; a son, Buford A. White (Sonya) of Morton, MS; her sister, Martha Cardinal of Moultrie, GA; six grandchildren, Kenneth McGrew, Donald McGrew, Celesta McGrew, Chris Blackwell, Matthew Martin, and James Robert Pittman; and nine great-grandchildren.
