ORVAL W. “BUBBA” CRAWFORD
LENA, MS
Mr. Bubba Crawford, age 86, a resident of Lena passed away on Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at the VA Medical Center in Jackson. His visitation was held 5:30-8pm Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton. Funeral services were held 11am Thursday, September 8, 2011 from the Ott & Lee Chapel in Morton with burial in the Ludlow Cemetery. Rev. Jerry Williams officiated the services. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.
Bubba was born in Scott County in 1924. He was a member of the Lena Masonic Lodge #493. He was the owner of 25 Quick Stop and owned a wood yard for many years. He served in the Army and received a Purple Heart and Bronze Star in World War II. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John David Crawford and Edrie Gertrude McDonald Crawford and sister, Mary Louise Weaver.
He is survived by two brothers, Joe T. Crawford (Jessie May) of Lena and Paul Crawford (Viola) of Lena; longtime companion, Quay Brown of Lena; special friends, Wanda Slay of Ludlow and Bobby Brown of Carthage; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friens.
Pallbearers were Steve Grantham, Jerry Grantham, Mike Tripp, Tommy Slay, Michael Weaver, Mitchell Weaver, Steve Grantham and Wood Brown. Honorary pallbearers were Hubert Shumaker, Claude Fitzhugh, Chester Rushing and Floyd Williams.
Memorials may be made in his honor to Ludlow Cemetery.
