Oscar Charlie Babb, Jr.
On Dec 8, 2022 at approximately 6:00 a.m., Oscar Charlie Babb, Jr., 72, went to be with the Lord. He was born on Oct 18, 1950 in Canton, MS and raised in Rankin County throughout his childhood. Living in Brandon at the time of his death, he was a member of Truitt Baptist Church.
On June 21, 1974, Charlie married Brenda Kay Harrell and together raised 3 boys in the Leesburg Community. A loving husband and father, he worked the majority of his adult life as a residential home painter. Charlie never met a stranger and enjoyed laughing with whomever he interacted. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with numerous family and friends. He enjoyed singing in churches around the community. Known as “Pro”, many can recount their stories of his younger years playing baseball and softball. He also served as a Deacon at Leesburg Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Babb of Brandon; 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Brad and Kori Babb of Vicksburg, MS; Paul and Leah Babb of Brandon, MS; Todd and Meagan Babb of Madison, MS; 5 grandchildren, Hadley Babb, Brandon Babb, Ella Jane Babb, Jase Babb, and Briar Babb; 4 sisters and brothers-in-law, Faye and Butch Myatt, Linda Kay and Joe McKay, Shirley and Bo Hicks, and Connie and Lyndell Body.
He is preceded in death by his father, Oscar Charlie Babb, Sr.; mother, Gladys McCrory Babb; sister, Betty Jo Shoemaker.
Funeral services will be held at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS on Monday, December 12th. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. with services held in the chapel immediately following.
