MORTON, MS
Mr. O.T. Measells, age 68, a resident of Morton passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at St. Dominic Hospice in Jackson, MS. Visitation was held 5-8pm Friday, September 2, 2011 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton and 10am-2pm Saturday at the funeral home. Funeral service was held 2pm Saturday, September 03, 2011 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton with burial in Springfield Baptist Cemetery. Rev. Marty Wilson, Rev. Glenn Hayman and Rev. Howard Herring officiated the services. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.
Mr. Measells was born in Scott County in 1943. He loved being outside in the serenity of nature. He was a carpenter and gunsmith. Mr. Measells was a founding member of Parkway Baptist Church. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.
He is preceded in death by parents, Jerome Measells and Ruby Cooper Measells; his grandparents and 2 brothers-in-law.
He is survived by his wife Florence Fox Measells of Morton; 5 children, Marcus Measells of Starkville, Donna Guillot (Greg) of Byram, Coy Fox (Jackie) of Morton, Tommy Walton (Pam) of Texas and Don Walton (Lynn) of Texas; 2 sisters, Pat Phillips of Morton and Helen Morgan of Forest; brother, Jerry Measells (Debbie) of Texas; many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Pallbearers were Dan Morgan, Trey Morgan, Marty Phillips, Scotty Phillips, Peter Measells and Andy Measells. Honorary pallbearers were Bobby James Phillips, Doye Gene Poole, J.B. Lingle and Jerry Harris.
Memorials may be made in his honor to Hospice of VA in Jackson MS.
