Otho Ralph Derrick, age 76, a resident of Pulaski passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at his residence. Visitation was held 5:30-9pm Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton. Funeral service was held 2pm Thursday, December 12, 2013 at the Ott & Lee Chapel in Morton with burial in Lingle Cemetery. Rev. Kenneth Johnson officiated the services. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.
Mr. Derrick was born September 18, 1937 in Scott County. He loved to work in his garden growing food and it brought pleasure to him to give to others. Otho loved to travel and fish. He was self employed for many years as a plumber. He loved his family very much and will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry Preston Derrick and Eula Mae Harmon Derrick; son, Tony Preston Derrick; brother, Eugene Derrick and sister, Mattie Merle Johnson.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Derrick of Pulaski; children, Timothy Derrick (Ann) of Pulaski, Teddy Derrick (Tammy) of Pulaski, Tonya Smithhart (John) of Pulaski and Tammy Derrick Clinton of Hattiesburg; 1 brother, C.L. Derrick (Sue) of Pulaski; 13 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 2 step children, Cathy Potter (Scott) of Clinton and Lynn Reagin (Charles) of Byram; a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers were Casey Derrick, Adam Derrick, Timothy Derrick Jr., Charles Reagin, Grady Embry and Kenny Embry. Honorary pallbearer was Derrick Clinton.
