Pamela Evans Howell

Pamela Evans Howell, 70, of Brandon, Mississippi, passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2024. She was born September 18, 1953 to Jim and Eloise Evans in Jasper County, Mississippi.

After graduating from Bay Springs High School, she attended Jones County Junior College and then the University of Southern Mississippi, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in clothing merchandising and a minor in home economics in 1975. 

She worked at McRae’s and Gayfer’s department stores as a jewelry buyer and in cosmetic sales. She also worked in sales at 49 Tire and Automotive before going to work at Mississippi State Hospital, where she met many friends and retired after 15 years. 

She had been a member of Brandon First Methodist Church since 1992, where she worked in the nursery for many years. She loved her church family dearly.  

Spending time with her family and friends was what she enjoyed most. She was a joy to be around and the life of the party. Everyone who knew her, loved her, and she will be greatly missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Eloise Evans. She leaves behind her husband of 35 years, Aaron Howell; son, Evans Howell; step-sons, Bryan Howell (Pamela), Jeff Howell, and David Howell; 8 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; a dear friend, Kathy Dongieux; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, with whom she had very close relationships.

Visitation will be at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon on Friday, June 7, 2024, from 5:00 until 7:00 pm and at Brandon First Methodist Church on Saturday, June 8, 2024, from 11:00 am until the time of the service at 12:00 pm. Internment will be at Louin Cemetery in Louin, Mississippi at 3:00 pm on Saturday after the funeral service.
