Ms Pat is survived by her husband, Jim Marshall; daughter Eve Ladner, daughter Abi Rayburn, son James Marshall; 9 grandchildren, Jon Ladner, Kari Ladner, Ryan Ladner, Alleysen Smith, William Rayburn, Robert Rayburn, Adam Marshall, Lynn McKay and Will Marshall, Brandon, MS; brother Malcolm McColley, Port Tobocco, MD, sister Margie Jordan, Boynton Beach, FL, brother Bob McColley, Moore Haven, FL and sister Karen Nelson, Lantana, FL; and innumerable brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus circling the globe.
At the age of 14 with the encouragement of Christian friends, Pat’s faith journey began. From that day in 1951, an unquenchable thirst for a personal relationship with the savior of the world developed. Her journey resulted in her leaving home in West Palm Beach, FL immediately after high school to attend a Bible college in Chattanooga, TN.
Pat’s journey continued while in Chattanooga where she met Jim and soon the happy couple married and began to serve together in a journey that lasted 59 years. Baby number 1, Eve, arrived in 1958 while Jim and Pat served a mountain church near Dayton, Tenn. Baby number 2, Abi arrived while Jim and Pat served on the home mission field in North and South Dakota. Upon completing their tour of duty they returned home to Chattanooga serving in a local north Georgia church when baby number 3, James, Jr. arrived. After seminary training, the growing family served a rural Lawrence County, MS church.
The decade of the 70’s brought a change in ministry direction, Jim to the business world and Pat to the education arena. Every faith step along this journey expanded the kingdom. Against conventional thought, Pat and Jim organized a divorce recovery ministry at their local church.
The decade of the 80’s brought new family members, grandchildren and great joy. Pat’s passion for ministry overflowed as she and Jim mentored a young singles Sunday school class at their local church. The lives Pat and Jim touched continue to impact their generation for His kingdom.
In the 90’s, Pat’s journey continues! Her heart for international ministry and students led Pat and Jim to leadership positions in the International department at their home church in Jackson, Ms.
Her journey of faith continued in the new millennium as God deepened her passion for international ministry. During Pat’s autumn years, while most grandmothers are playing with grandchildren, she and Jim accepted the call to international mission work based in Guangzhou, China.
For the last decade of Pat’s life, she lived in Brandon, MS and served God faithfully in her local church.
