Patsy Lavonia Riser Gardner went to be with the Lord on Tuesday November 5, 2013.

Born January 29, 1936 to Carl and Etoyal Riser, she lived all her life in the Ringgold community north of Forest. Mrs. Gardner spent most of her life serving others. She was renowned for her chocolate pies and apple and orange cakes. She was also an accomplished seamstress. Patsy had a true servant’s heart and was a perfect example of a true Southern lady.

Mrs. Gardner was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Jack Gardner, her parents Carl and Etoyal Riser; sister Beth Riser Goff and brother Cary Riser.

Survivors include daughters, Dianne Gardner Smith (James) of Magee, MS Kay Gardner Robinson of Forest, MS, Pam Gardner Gable (Gerald) of Cottageville, SC, Shelia Gardner Coan (Randall) of Columbus, MS and son Andy Gardner (Theresa) of Forest, MS., a legacy of 13 grandchildren and 8 great- grandchildren and a host of grandson and grand-daughter –in-laws.
She is also survived by 4 sisters; Wilma J. White of Forest, Carolyn Haralson of Forest, Anna Belle Toler (Randy) of Liberty, MS, Nancy Shaw (Robert) of Bastrop, LA and a brother, Delton “Pete” Riser (Donna) of Forest, MS.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2pm Thursday November 7, 2013 from the chapel of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Forest with interment in the Ephesus Cemetery. Lamar Harrison, James Smith and Dr. Jim Everett will officiate. Music provided by Joyce Everett and Lance Word.

Pallbearers are Kenneth Robinson, John Carl Riser, Robert Shaw, Randy Toler, Kendall Gardner and Bruce Warren.
