Patsy House Howle, 80, of Brandon, MS, passed away Sunday, January 10, 2021, at Lakeland Nursing Home and Rehab Center, Jackson, MS.
Mrs. Howle’s family will hold a family memorial service at Mt. Vernon Church, 200 Mt. Vernon Rd, Columbus, MS, on Saturday, January 16, at 1:00 pm with Rev. Gary Howse officiating.
Mrs. Howle was born January 28, 1940, to the late John William House and Allie George House in Lowndes County. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Fannin, Brandon, MS. While her children were school aged she was a homemaker, involved in PTA, a room mother, and drove a school bus. She enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening, sewing, reading, and large family gatherings. In 1987, she received her B.S. in Education from Mississippi University for Women and taught in the East Mississippi Community College Adult Basic Education program. After retirement, Mrs. Howle enjoyed traveling. Some of her favorite trips were with her husband to Europe, to Hawaii, and up the East Coast. She also enjoyed many trips around the South with the church senior citizen group. In addition, she attended ladies Bible study group, senior adult choir, enjoyed playing card games, dominoes, and Bunco with her friends. She also crocheted afghans for family members and crafted Christmas ornaments.
Mrs. Howle was preceded in death by her sister, Linda Joan House, and her brothers, Clarence David House and John Alfred House and step daughter-in-law Theresa Howle.
Mrs. Howle is survived by her husband, Wallace Howle, of Brandon; sisters, Ruby Jean Anderson, of Columbus, and Durranda (Gary) Howse, of Lauderdale; her brother, Mike (Laura) House, of Caledonia; her children Gwen (David) Sisson, of Columbus; Carol (Bill) Basinger, of Alabama; Deb (Kurk) Koch, of Nebraska; Charles Bell, of Alabama; step-sons Larry (Cile) Howle, of Brandon; Ray (Jeannie) Howle, of Columbus; Bert Howle, of Alabama and many grandchildren and great- grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Operation Christmas Child, Baptist Children’s Village, or Gideon’s International.
