Paul Gonzalez Cisneros, 74, passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2017, at home in Brandon, MS. He was born on June 17th, 1943.
Paul was born in North Dakota, which was home and where he grew up until moving to Nebraska. The Cornhusker State would be his adopted home until he moved to Mississippi as young adult, where he would spend the rest of his life.
Paul was a well-rounded person, having served in the U.S. Army as well as in The Vietnam War in the capacity of a ham radio operator in the field. He then found a niche as a painter and made a career out of it. It proved to be a good choice because he was simply one of the best. As a young man he traveled the country and painted water towers, and loved the task of climbing the height of those towers. He would tell his grandchildren stories of what he would see that high up in the air, and enjoyed reliving those moments where it was just him, his work, and the Almighty.
He was as kind of a human being you will ever, ever meet. He always greeted people with a warm smile, a handshake and hug, or all of the above. His love for his immediate family and the family he married into close to 30 years ago is unmatched. Paul’s robust laugh was contagious, and filled many family reunions, holidays, birthdays, weddings, and football games. His gentle spirit was always a welcoming and calming influence in those moments of life where we welcomed a new family member into the world, or said goodbye to a loved one. From hunting with his in-laws, going to watch football games with his grandsons, or simply offering a hug of encouragement, Paul was the epitome of family.
Survivors include his wife Bobbie June Lester Martin Cisneros; children, Pepe Cisneros, Marsha Scarborough and husband Tommy, Bob Martin, and Ronnie Martin and wife Judy; brother, Jerry Cisneros, and 8 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his grandson Shannon Ronald Martin.
Funeral services are 1pm Thursday in the Chapel of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS with visitation starting at 10:30pm. Burial will follow in Flora Cemetery in Madison County, MS. Pall bearers will be grandsons Jonathan and Jason Scarborough, grandson T.W. Martin, grandson Michael Martin, grandson Franky Martin, and stepson Bob Martin.
