Dr. Paul Farmer passed away on Sunday, January 30, 2011 at the age of 45, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Memorial services will be held Wednesday, February 2nd at Pinelake Baptist Church, Brandon, MS. Visitation will be at the church from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 p.m. with services at 2:00.
Paul attended Valdosta State University, Valdosta, Georgia and Mississippi State University School of Veterinary Medicine (92). While at MSU, he met his wife Alyssa Sturdivant. They have been married for 18 years. Alyssa and Paul were partners in Animal Medical Hospital, Inc at the Ross Barnett Reservoir.
Paul loved hunting, any kind of sports, playing with his kids, coaching little league, boating with “his girls” and spending time with his family.
Survivors are his wife, Alyssa; daughter, Ally (16), and son, Brayden (11); parents, Joe and Marion Farmer of Valdosta, Georgia; brother, Joey (Karen) and their children, Josh and Sarah of Valdosta; in-laws, Ann and Adrian Sturdivant; brothers in law, Ryan Sturdivant (Kristy) and their children Nash and Beckham, Steve Sturdivant and Greg Sturdivant all of Brandon and Mike Sturdivant of Vicksburg.
Paul was loved by many friends and extended family. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials to Pinelake Mission Ministry, Pinelake Baptist Church, 6071 Highway 25, Brandon, MS 39047.
