MR. PAUL RAY SHEDD

PELAHATCHIE

Paul Ray Shedd, age 66, lost his courageous fight with cancer on Saturday, September 18, 2010 surrounded by his family at his residence in Pelahatchie. His visitation was held 5-8pm Sunday, September 19, 2010 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton. Funeral services were held at 11am Monday, September 20, 2010 from the Ott & Lee Chapel with burial in the Rehobeth Baptist Cemetery. Rev. Hoyt Ainsworth and Rev. Rick Hammerstrom officiated the services. Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton was in charge of arrangements.

Paul was a lifetime resident of Rankin County. He was a member of the Rehobeth Baptist Church in Pelahatchie. In 2009 he retired from Eaton Aerospace where he was a dedicated employee for 40 years. He loved to fish and work on lawn mowers, but what he will be mostly remembered for is the love he shared by helping people and never asking for anything in return. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.

He is preceded in death by his father, W.T. Shedd; brother, Jimmy Shedd; grandfather, Will Shedd; grandmother, Susie Shedd; aunt, Mildred Fortenberry and brother-in-law, Hilton Thompson.

Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Betty Shedd of Pelahatchie; his loving mother, Pauline Whitaker Shedd of Pelahatchie; son, Wendell Shedd (Debbie Creel) of Pelahatchie; daughter, Rebecca Shedd of Pelahatchie; sister, Dorothy Faye Thompson of Leesburg; brother, Tommy Shedd (Linda Pigg) of Pelahatchie; grandson, John Michael Shedd and a host of friends.

Pallbearers were Alvin McKinley, Neal Ishman, Don Sheeley, Paul Stanley, Sam Clay and Wallace Dunn. Honorary pallbearers were Kenny Smith, Brad Shedd, Patrick Thompson and Bill Shedd.
