Paula Sue Strode Derrick, 56, passed away on Wed. May 21, 2014 at her home in Brandon, MS. Visitation will be held on Fri. May 23, 2014 from 5pm-9pm and on Sat. May 24, 2014 from 9am-10:45am at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Funeral Services will be at 11am on Sat. May 24, 2014 at the funeral home with burial in the Crestview Memorial Gardens in Brandon, MS.

Mrs. Derrick was born on Dec. 16, 1957 to Paul Warman Strode Jr. and Beverly Brown Strode in Cleveland, MS. She was a native of Forest, MS and has lived in Brandon, MS for the past 34 years where she was a member of the Meadow Grove Baptist Church. Mrs. Derrick was a very strong woman and a fighter who had no problem in telling you “how things were and how they were going to be”. She was a wonderful wife, mother, daughter, grandmother and friend who always enjoyed having a full house. Mrs. Derrick enjoyed cooking and caring for her grandbabies but most of all would always be there if you needed anything. She was also a dedicated employee of Forman Perry Watkins Kratz & Tardy LLC of Jackson, MS. Mrs. Derrick loved Mississippi State Sports and drag racing.

Mrs. Derrick is survived by her husband, Tim Derrick of Brandon, MS; father, Paul Strode Jr. of Hattiesburg, MS three children, Lessie Ammons (Brian) of Pearl, MS and Rachel Derrick and her fiancé (Brandon Martinez) of Brandon, MS and Nick Derrick of Brandon, MS; four grandchildren, Keygan Ray Ammons, Kaiden Wade Ammons, Beverly Kate Martinez and Macie Claire Martinez; two brothers, Raymond Norwood “Woody” Strode (Patricia) and Paul Warman “Chip” Strode III (Lila); two nieces, Katherine and Layne Strode and two nephews, Raymond and Joseph Strode.
