Pauline “Polly” Barrett, 82, a resident of Pearl, MS, went home to be with her Lord and heavenly father on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Merit Health Crossgates in Brandon, MS after a lengthy illness. Visitation will be held at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Forest, MS on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 18, 2017 in the Ott and Lee Chapel in Forest, MS at 11:00 a.m. with burial following in New Good Hope Baptist Cemetery, Pulaski, MS. Officiating will be Reverend J. Clark. Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Forest, MS will be in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Barrett had lived in Pearl for the past three years and formerly lived in Forest, MS and Pulaski, MS. She was a member of New Good Hope Baptist Church in Pulaski, MS. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She worked as manager of one of the local hotels in Forest, MS before retiring. She was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Will Junior “Slick” Barrett; her son, Rick Barrett; her parents, Jimmie and Millie Herrington; brother, Dr. Raymond A. Herrington; sister, Earline Hurtt; and sister, Aldia Bufkin.
She is survived by her sisters, Frances Strickland of Union, MS and Bobbie Herrington of Pearl, MS; one brother, James Herrington, of Union, MS; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as Lachae Barrett Jones (Brandon), Brylee Jones, Devin Jones, and B.J. Barrett.
Pallbearers will be Glen Herrington, Steve Fedricks, Keith Jones, B.J. Barrett, Brandon Jones and Jimmy Gibbs.
