Pearson Fields “Buck” Flowers Jr., 73, passed away Wed. April 1, 2015 at the G.V. Sonny Montgomery VA Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Visitation will be held on Fri. April 3, 2015 from 5pm-7pm and on Sat. April 4, 2015 from 10am-11am at the Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 11am on Sat. April 4, 2015 at the Ott & Lee Funeral Home Chapel in Brandon, MS with burial to follow in the Crestview Memorial Gardens in Brandon, MS.
Mr. Flowers was born in Meridian, MS and has been a resident of Rankin County, MS since the Easter flood of 1979. He retired as a Master Sergeant with the U.S. Army and served his country during the Vietnam War where he received the Combat Infantryman’s Badge. After the war Mr. Flowers was a recruiter in the Jackson Area and received the Gold Recruiter Badge with 3 Sapphire Stars, he taught the JROTC with Rankin County School District and received the Star Teacher Award, and he was also a 100% Disabled American Veteran. Mr. Flowers was the president of the County Line Deer Club in Polkville, MS and he also worked with the Have a Heart Fishing Tournament.
Mr. Flowers is survived by his wife, Jinja Flowers; two daughters, Cynthia Len Flowers Clements (Chris) and Michele Flowers McCarthy (James); two grandchildren, Andrew and Rachael Clements and one sister, Margaret Whitehead.
