Penson Gunn, Jr.

Penson Edwin Gunn, Jr., 90, a resident of Forest died Thursday, August 9, 2012 at University Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Funeral services were 2 pm Sunday, August 12, 2012 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Forest with burial in the Ridge Baptist Church in Forest. Visitation was held 5:30-7:30 pm Saturday, August 11, 2012 at the funeral home. Rev. Joey Smith and Rev. Jerry Clark officiated the services


Mr. Gunn a lifelong resident of Forest was the son of Penson E., Sr. and Jessie Gomillion Gunn. He was married to Mary Yvonne Green Gunn. Mr. Gunn enjoyed the outdoors and working on his farm. He was a member of the Ridge Baptist Church and served as a deacon. He was a proud member of the United States Army. Mr. Gunn loved his family very much and spending time with them brought great joy to his life. He will be missed by all who loved and knew him.


Mr. Gunn was preceded in death by his parents, Penson Edwin, Sr. and Jessie Gomillion Gunn.


Mr. Gunn is survived by his wife, Mary Yvonne Gunn; son, Mark E. (Sherry) Gunn; daughter, Janie (Erbert, Jr.) Gomillion; a grandson, Chris Gomillion; many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.


Serving as pallbearers were Greg Evans, Phil Evans, David Hankins, Greg Winstead, Ryan Smith and Andy Smith.
