Polka Sue Knight Murff, 92, passed away Sun. July 31, 2016 at the Mississippi Baptist Hospital in Jackson, MS. Visitation will be held on Mon. Aug. 1, 2016 from 5pm-8pm at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS and on Tues. Aug. 2, 2016 from 1pm-1:45pm at Shiloh United Methodist Church in Pelahatchie, MS. Funeral Services are 2pm on Tues. Aug. 2 ,2016 at the Shiloh United Methodist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Murff was born in Rankin County, MS, was a longtime resident of Jackson, MS and has lived in Brandon, MS since 1974. She was a member of the Shiloh United Methodist Church in Pelahatchie, MS. Mrs. Murff loved keeping children and she kept children at her home until she was 90 years old. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and sewing.
Mrs. Murff is survived by her daughter, Kay Murff Dawson (John); son, Dan Murff (Nancy Evans); sister, Nell Robinson; four grandchildren, Daniel Shawn Murff (Melanie), Kristen Murff Coleman (Jeff), Morgan Dawson Abraham (Josh) and Bran Dawson (Julie Brewer) and four great grandchildren, Tinley Kate Coleman, Danny Quinn Coleman, Hattie Fate Abraham and Emery Katherine Dawson. She is preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Murff; parents, Edward Gibson and Mae Jones Knight and a brother, Edward Knight.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shiloh United Methodist Camp Meeting Fund at 2394 Shiloh Rd. Pelahatchie, MS 39145.
