Mr. Prentice Long, age 74,  a resident of Brandon passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2020 at his residence.  Visitation will be held 1pm-1:45pm Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.  Funeral  service will be held 2pm Wednesday, July 15, 2020 from the Ott & Lee Chapel in Morton with burial in Two Mile Cemetery.  (There will be NO Graveside service).  Dr. Bobby McGuffie will officiate the services.  Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.

Mr. Long was born in Scott County on January 15, 1946.  Prentice was known as a jokester, even when he felt bad he always had a joke for the nurses when they came.  He took care of his family and the saying was even if he was 600 miles away he could fix it even if it was over the phone.  Prentice was a generous man and was a great friend to all.  His granchildren were the apple of his eye and he loved to hear them call him, “Handsome PaPa.”  He loved his family very much and will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Norman Woodrow Long and Jenny Jeanette Henry Long; siblings, Robert Earl Long and Faye Sullivan.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Vicki Lynn Magee Long of Brandon; children, Melanie East (Kevin) of LA, Tina Lynn Knox (Mark) of NC and Woody Long (Susan) of Brandon; 16 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren and a host of friends.

Pallbearers will be Tony Long, Grady Long, Ken Hall, Stanley Monk, Brant Long and Jacob Callan.

Memorials may be made in his honor to the Diabetes Foundation or Sta Home Hospice.
