Rachel Mae Hobby,  91, went to be with her Lord Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at Hospice Ministries, Inc. in Ridgeland, MS.   Visitation is 5:30 –  8:00  pm Thursday, July 28, 2011 and 9:00 am – 9:45 am Friday, July 29, 2011 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS.  Graveside Services will be at 10:30 am Friday in Lakewood Memorial Park in Jackson, MS.
Rachel Mae Holmes was born in Wedowee, Alabama on December 12, 1919 to the late Jessie Pitchford Holmes and Evie Lindley Holmes.  She married James Leroy Hobby on September 25, 1944. She had been a resident of Brandon for 20 years.  She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Brandon and had been a Sunday School Teacher and Bible Teacher.  She was a member of the Eastern Star and had worked with the Rainbow Girls.
Survivors include her husband of 66 years, James Leroy Hobby of Brandon, MS; two sons, James Ray Hobby and wife, Martha of Russellville, Arkansas and James Leldon Hobby and wife, Barbara of Fannin, MS.; one brother, Enos Holmes of Anniston, Alabama; eleven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimers’s  Association Mississippi Chapter, 1900 Dunbarton Dr., Jackson, MS.
