Rammie E. Hall, age 84 , a resident of Hazlehurst, formerly of Morton, died Sunday July 5, 2015 in Hazlehurst following an extended illness.
Services were conducted at 1pm Tuesday July 7, 2015 from the chapel of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton with interment in the Morton Memorial Gardens. Visitation was held from 5pm to 8pm Monday. Rev. Rick Munn officiated.
Mr. Hall was born in Rolling Fork, Ms to his parents William Hall and Lou Ella Dearman on September 27, 1930. After living in the Morton area several years, he and his family moved to Hazlehurst. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Hazlehurst, where he was a actively involved in the Men’s Sunday School Class “Heaven Bound”. He retired from the USDA in 1996 as an Inspector.
Preceding him in death were his parents, wife; Maboline Roberts Hall and siblings; Willie Mae Nixon, Mary Elizabeth Englebret, Colena Richardson, Lottie Mae Blissett, Hillard Hall, Allene Hall, Ollie Hall, Belton Hall, John Hall and B.C. Hall.
Survivors include his daughter, Bonita Hall Newport and her husband, Gary of Baton Rouge, LA. Two sisters; Shirly H. Rushing of Natchez, Mattie Lou Palmer of Brandon and one brother; Chester Hall of Brandon. He also leaves a legacy of three grandchildren; Dusty Beard, Lindsay Newport , Morgan Newport and two great-grandchildren: Alexandria Warren and Ben Beard. Mr. Hall was a special man who also had some very special people in his life… Caregivers: Wanda Wilson, Christine Herron and close friend who looked up to him, Drew Herron.
Pallbearers are Drew Herron, Duncan Beard, Clifton Hall, James Gray, Henry Melvin Steen and Billy Joe Hall.
Funeral services were provided by Ott & Lee Funeral Home of Morton.
