Ray Hopkins

Aubrey Ray Hopkins of Brandon, MS passed away on November 27, 2023.

Ray was born on July 21, 1946, and grew up in Shreveport. He was a successful entrepreneur and businessman, with a strong career in the restaurant and seafood industries. Ray was known to many as an avid LSU Tigers fan, frequently seen at LSU sporting events and consistently wore purple and gold with pride.

He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Aubrey and Margie Hopkins. He is survived by his wife, Grace Hopkins, his children Teddy Hopkins (Janine), Robin Wilson (Dusty), Chris Hopkins (Cindy), Jordan Sutton (Josh), and Daniel King; his grandchildren Madison Elizabeth Hopkins, Thomas McLeod Hopkins, Matthew Hagen McMillon, Braylan Hunter Hopkins, Kylie Michelle Sutton, and Luke Gabriel Sutton as well as his great granddaughters Madilynn Isabelle Doan and McKinley Rose McMillon. He is also survived by five beloved siblings: Elizabeth, Rickie, Diane, Ronald, and Reggie.

He will be remembered for his unconditional love and devotion and his selfless dedication of time, talents, and resources to those he loved. His faith in the Lord Jesus Christ was evident as Ray served faithfully at Hillcrest Baptist Church and Center Terrace Baptist Church.

The service for Mr. Hopkins will be held at Hillcrest Baptist Church, Byram, MS, Saturday, December 2, 2023. Visitation will be held from 9:30 - 11:00 a.m. with the service beginning at 11:00 a.m.

Donations may be made to Hillcrest Baptist Church, Byram MS or to Center Terrace Baptist Church, Canton, MS in Ray's memory.

In the spirit and character of our Ray, go to a ball game with family and friends. Tell an umpire how to do his job. Eat an extra order of hashbrowns and order them "fresh and hot."
