Ray Thomas Price, 47, formerly of Hattiesburg, passed away in Kingsland, TX from natural causes.
Ray received his law degree from the University of Mississippi, where he also obtained an undergraduate degree in political science. He was a graduate of Forest High School.
After graduation, Ray served as a law clerk under Mississippi Supreme Court Chief Justice Roy Noble Lee. His legal career began as a sole practitioner in Hattiesburg, where he quickly became a well- known figure in the legal community in the Pine Belt area. He was a partner in the law firm of Williams and Price. Ray was also chosen to serve as a public defender and special prosecutor.
Along with courtroom battles, he enjoyed deep sea fishing, traveling to Costa Rica, and spending time at deer camp with his cousins in the Newman community in Hinds County. He was a Christian, with Presbyterian, Baptist, Episcopalian, Methodist and Catholic ties.
Along with his legacy as a gifted attorney, Ray leaves behind the joy of his life, his daughter Madison Rhea Price of Houston, TX, mother, Willana Thomas Price of Forest, brother, William Price, JR. (Tracy) of Forest, two nephews and a long list of special cousins and friends.
