Ray Watts, 85, a resident of Star, MS passed away Thursday, December 8, 2016 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Sunday, December 11, 2016 at Star Baptist Church in Star, MS with interment in Star Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-7 pm Saturday at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Richland, MS and from 1-2 pm Sunday at Star Baptist Church in Star, MS. Rev. Vic Bowman and Rev. Lee Brewer will officiate the services. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Richland, MS.
Mr. Watts was a native of Rankin County, MS. He was the son of John Watts and Letha Nations Watts better known as “Mrs. Doll”. He was married to Tressie Morgan Watts. Mr. Watts worked for Illinois Central Gulf as a Truck Driver many years before retiring. He proudly served his county in the United States Navy. He was a member of Star Baptist Church. He loved his pets Roxy and Luke. He also loved his family very much especially his grandson, Hunter Watts and spending time with them brought great joy to his life. He will be missed by all who loved and knew him.
Mr. Watts was preceded in death by his wife, Tressie Morgan Watts; parents, John Watts and Letha Nations Watts; brothers, John Watts and Glenn Watts; sisters, Nell Dear, Margaret Jones, twin sister Fay Zoll and Ruby King.
Mr. Watts is survived by his two sons, Don Watts and Ronnie (Tanya) Watts; brother, Charles (Edna) Watts; grandson, Hunter Watts; special niece, Gayle (Bubba) Daves; special nephew, Dicky (Rhonda) Watts; many other nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
