Reba Lum

September 6, 1923 — January 30, 2019

Reba Miller Paul Lum, 95 gained her Angel Wings on January 30, 2019, with her daughters by her side.  She was born in Vian, OK on Sept. 6, 1923 to Birdie Lee Harrell Miller and W. R Miller.  Graveside services will be 2pm Saturday, February 2, 2019, at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Vicksburg, MS.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Herbert Wilson Lum, of Vicksburg and Natchez; her 7 siblings; her son, William Ferrell Paul of Richmond, VA; as well as her grandson, David Kiley Byrd, and sons-in-Law, James David Byrd and David Spencer Clifford, Sr.   Reba lived her early childhood in Lake Providence, LA, then moving to Vicksburg for many years before moving to Natchez, where she lived for almost 50 years.  She was a resident of Brookdale Brandon Assisted Living for the past 6 years, before moving to Plainview Assisted Living.

She was a devoted daughter, sister, Mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  She put family above all else, except her Lord.   She was an avid gardener and cook, who was well-known for her baking skills., as well as her unconditional loving ways.    Holidays were always a special time.  She felt that was her “gift” to her family.

Mrs. Lum is survived by her two daughters, Sandra Paul Clifford of Bay St. Louis, MS and Linda Paul Byrd of Brandon, MS, as well as 6 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and a bonus granddaughter, Ashley Babin.

She was a devoted member of the Stanton Baptist Church.  A Celebration of Life will be held at the Church on February 23 at 11am.

There are no awards or medals that hang on her walls, but there will always be the love, respect and adoration from all that were privileged to know her.  The world has lost a truly special lady.
