Mrs. Reba Lee Brewer Roy, local cosmetologist and friend to many, passed away on Flag Day, June 14, 2021, three days after her 81st birthday, at the Regency Hospital of Meridian, Lauderdale County, Mississippi where she had a been a patient for the last two weeks.
Born in Thayer, Oregon County, Missouri, to her parents: Earl and Della Brewer, Reba Lee Brewer is preceded her in death by her parents and all of her siblings.
Reba was a graduate of Forest High School, completed course work at Clarke Memorial College in Newton, and was the owner of Sierra Beauty Salon in Forest, for over thirty years. Her professional career as a cosmetologist, provided opportunity for her to serve as an instructor at Magnolia Beauty College, and allowed her most recently to serve clients at Manhattan Nursing Home, and J.C. Penney, both in the capital city of Jackson. Reba L. Roy had the prestigious honor of being inducted into the Mississippi Cosmetology Hall of Fame.
In her civic life, professional relationships were established among clients and business personnel, alike. She was a charter member of the Forest Country Club, where she held membership until her death. Newspaper articles in The Scott County Times, published her enthusiasm for the city, as well as her involvement for her contributions and the betterment of the community for the city of Forest, namely under the leadership of the late Mayor Fred Gaddis.
Summarization of Reba Roy, to Mississippi, she was a legend, who will be remembered for her coining of the phrase, "Little Darling."
She leaves behind her husband, Mr. Pope Godfrey, whom she wed on March 29, 2015.
She is also preceded in death by her first husband: Dallas Gene Roy.
